Liberov kult na području istočnog dela rimske provincije Dalmacije / The Cult of Liber in the Eastern Part of the Roman Province of Dalmatia

A total of eight votive monuments dedicated to the god Liber have been preserved on the territory of the eastern part of the Roman Province of Dalmatia to date. As a sequence of the total, six monuments represent a single cult; one monument represents a cult symbiosis with the god Bacchus, and one with Terminus and Jupiter. The absence of the presentation of a cult union with the female paredra Libera is instantly apparent; so is the variable approach to the cult of the god Bacchus. The monuments can mostly be dated in the reign of Hadrian and, respectively, Marcus Aurelius. The dedicators were reputable officials, of higher social function: arcarius fisci, ob honorem II viratus, and most likely sacerdos.
