How was the Roman province of Britain governed? / Kako se upravljalo rimskom provincijom Bitinijom?

Through the analysis of the tenth book of Pliny's Letters, which presents his correspondence with Emperor Trajan, we have learned that he governed the province of Bithynia through an imperial legate. The paper makes an analytical dialectical connection with other sources, such as Tacitus' Annals, and attempts to clarify legal disputes by linking them with legal texts from the Digest. The author cites specific letters that deal with the issue of provincial administration, and the analysis is limited to the most significant ones. From the response of Emperor Trajan, we realize the importance of the issue of provincial governance. The determination of the demarcation of jurisdictions in specific cases between local authorities and the provincial governor was of particular importance. The emperor always took into account the financial aspects of individual local projects in his decisions.
